High Pass – High Power Filter
High Pass filters are a common filter when it comes to certain systems. They can be extremely useful due to their ability to allow higher frequencies and deny lower frequencies. Many of the applications that we are seeing and the direction of the 5G technological world we are seeing that higher frequency filters are more desired than others.
This particular high pass filter stays relatively low in frequency, but that is due to the massive power rating that filter was specified to have, 350 watts. Increased power handling capabilities can drastically alter the design and overall performance of the filter, due to the increased size of the part. As components and size begins to increase, more parasitic communication can occur and individual components begin to behave more sporadically. We were able to maintain the desired specifications keeping the insertion loss below 1 dB and the return loss above 14 dB. The isolation was also maintained to be greater than 70 dB at the desired frequency of 1480 MHz.
As with all of our Filters here at Bree Engineering the design is custom and tailored to the specifications of our clients. We are always striving to do our best to design, build and tune filters of any type.
Please see the attached Filter Test Data for the performance of the filter.
